2015 Kia Sorento Recall

October 29, 2015 By Staff - s.r. Leave a Comment

shutterstock_191237378There is nothing more frightening for a driver than to have something mechanical go wrong with their vehicle that is the fault of the manufacturer. Occasionally an auto manufacturer will recall a vehicle part due to malfunction and the consumer must present the vehicle to the dealership for repair of the malfunctioning part. This is of no cost to the consumer as the producer pays for the replacement and cost of vehicle repair. The vehicle manufacturer is wholly responsible for recall of vehicles with mechanical malfunction, but the consumer driving the recalled vehicle carries some element of responsibility to get their vehicle into the dealership for repairs as soon as possible. When consumers receive a recall notice, they must follow through with a visit to the dealership to repair the mechanical failure.

Unfortunately, repairs won’t help with medical treatment or income lost when a malfunction results in a serious injury. Springer & Lyle, personal injury attorneys can help consumers injured by vehicular defects and malfunctions. Consumers injured by a product defect must recognize the importance of contacting Springer & Lyle or another qualified law firm as soon as possible regarding any injuries received due to vehicular defects or malfunctions.

In the latest instance of vehicle recall, KIA is recalling their 2015 Sorento Crossover SUV for a faulty transmission. The transmission of these models, when in the park position, can shift out of park on its own. This is not good news for anyone driving a 2015 KIA Sorento Crossover SUV. It makes no difference if the vehicle owner parks their KIA in a parking lot or on the street. The risk is high for accidents, injuries and even death to the driver, and others on the street when the transmission or braking mechanism is faulty. If you had any injury due to this or any other mechanical malfunction by the manufacturer contact Springer & Lyle, personal injury attorneys. If you received a notice about your 2015 KIA model, be sure to get the vehicle into the dealership for a new brake-shift interlock mechanism. When excessive force is employed to the shift lever, the brake-shift interlock is at risk for chipping or cracking.
