Pharmacy Related Errors

October 28, 2016 By Staff - s.r. Leave a Comment

ZophranThe number of pharmacy and medication related errors in the United States are frightening. Estimates are as high as 30 million a year because billions of prescriptions are filled every year. Prescriptions are obtained through doctors, over the internet or even through the mail. Although most of the errors are harmless, others result in illness, injury or fatalities. What concerns our law firm is the fact that nearly all pharmacy and medication errors are preventable. Springer & Lyle is the premier personal injury law firm in Texas, and we can guide you or your family member through the pharmacy or prescription error litigation process.

The general rule is that the law permits somebody who has been harmed by pharmacy and medication errors to file a personal injury lawsuit. They might be eligible for compensation for damages that include but aren’t limited to:

  • Past and future medical bills
  • Past and future lost earnings
  • Pain, suffering and mental anguish
  • Permanent impairment and disability
  • Funeral and burial expenses in the event of a death

Nearly every pharmacy in the country has a computerized system that confirms the prescription and dose. Contraindications are also referenced and cross-referenced. The knowledgeable and experienced pharmacist will contact the doctor or hospital if he or she has any questions or concerns. If they fail to do so, a patient’s condition can deteriorate, they could be permanently injured, or they could die. The law firm of Springer & Lyle represents victims and their families for injuries and fatalities that occurred as a result of pharmacy and medication related errors like:

  • Wrong dosage or incorrect instructions
  • Similarly sounding medications
  • Placement of the wrong pills in a correctly labeled vial
  • Providing the wrong drug
  • Harmful drug interactions

Springer & Lyle can determine whether you have a viable pharmacy error claim. If you believe that you or a member of your family has suffered significant damages as a result of a pharmacy error, don’t hesitate to contact us for a free consultation and case evaluation. You don’t owe us any legal fees unless we obtain a settlement or verdict on your behalf. Pharmacy errors occur daily across the country, and some people feel severe adverse effects without realizing that it might be from a pharmacy related error. Contact Springer & Lyle to speak with a personal injury attorney about a possible pharmacy or medication error. You’ll get straight talk and straight answers.
