Accidents Caused By Inexperienced Truck Drivers

May 4, 2018 By Staff - p.s. Leave a Comment

Inexperienced truck drivers is one of the leading causes of trucking accidents in Texas. There’s a duty incumbent on every trucking company to properly screen and train their drivers. Drivers are responsible for 60 foot long tractor-trailers that weigh up to 80,000 pounds that are difficult to maneuver and require long stopping distances. If a trucking company breaches its duty to properly screen and train its drivers and a crash occurs because of that, the personal injury attorneys at Springer & Lyle want to work with you to have both the trucker and his employer held liable.

Many different types of truck driver inexperience result from a lack of preparation and training  behind the wheel. When a massive rig crashes into a passenger vehicle, catastrophic injuries or fatalities are likely to occur. About 75 percent of those injured or killed are occupants of other vehicles. Accidents involving inexperienced truck drivers can include but not be limited to:

  • Jackknifing impacts
  • Drivers failing to do proper pre-trip inspections
  • Companies failing to do proper background checks on drivers they hire
  • Rollovers
  • Rear-end collisions
  • Blind spot collisions
  • Accidents involving weather conditions

The U.S. Department of Transportation governs truck driver training and testing, which includes strict rules and regulations. These rules and regulations clearly state that it’s the duty of the trucking company to ensure that all all of their drivers follow the Department of Transportation rules and regulations.

Proper training and testing of big-rig truck drivers is a significant safety factor that operates to protect you and your family on our Texas roads. Truckers that don’t have the required training, testing and experience are at a far greater risk of being in a serious accident. Inexperienced truck drivers pose a serious risk of harm to you and anybody else on or near the roadway.

Finding the best truck accident attorneys can make a remarkable difference for truck accident victims and their families. The medical bills and lost earnings resulting from a truck crash can be staggering. Victims and their families are in no position to bear that financial burden and expense by themselves.

The truck accident attorneys at Springer & Lyle are experienced, aggressive and successful personal injury litigators. If you believe that a truck driver and/or their employer is responsible for a crash, contact us for a free consultation and case evaluation. We’ll give you straight talk and straight answers.
